GWADAR: Security forces have killed 10 terrorists, including a female operative, while foiling a militant plot in Gwadar, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
According to the military’s media wing, a civilian was martyred during the terrorist attacks, while several vehicles were damaged. The clearance operation concluded without any casualties among security personnel, and authorities restored order in the affected areas, it added.
The ISPR said Indian-sponsored militants belonging to what it termed “Fitna al Hindustan” attempted to carry out terrorist activities near the Gabd Border Crossing and in Gwadar city.
The statement said the attackers intended to undermine the state’s writ and disrupt development and economic progress in Balochistan. Security forces subsequently launched clearance operations in and around Gwadar to protect local residents and eliminate the threat.
Commenting on the involvement of a female operative, the ISPR said the alleged coercion of a Baloch woman into the attack constituted a crime against the state and violated the honour and dignity of Baloch women.
The statement accused the militants of exploiting Baloch women for propaganda purposes and attempting to use their involvement to influence public sentiment and justify their activities.
It further said such tactics contradicted Baloch cultural values and Islamic traditions, which accord women a position of honour and respect. The ISPR added that the people of Balochistan had repeatedly rejected violence carried out in their name.
The military’s media wing reaffirmed that counterterrorism operations under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to eliminating what the ISPR described as foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country, the statement concluded.
