ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for National Health Services Mustafa Kamal has expressed confidence that Pakistan will become polio-free by June next year, reaffirming the government’s commitment to eradicating the crippling disease.

The minister said the nationwide campaign would be conducted from the 2nd to the 8th of next month in 97 selected districts.

He revealed that approximately 24 million children under the age of five would receive polio vaccine drops during the campaign.

Mustafa Kamal urged parents to support vaccination teams and ensure that all eligible children receive the vaccine to protect them against the disease.

He also pointed to a reduction in polio cases across the country, attributing the progress to the government’s continued efforts and vaccination initiatives.

The minister stressed that sustained cooperation from parents and communities would be essential to achieving the target of a polio-free Pakistan by June next year.
