Islamabad: Federal Government ending autonomous status of Higher Education Commission (HEC) has given it to under the education ministry.
Sources said that the federal cabinet has approved an ordinance regarding HEC while the cabinet approved the ordinance through a summary circulation.
Sources said that all the decisiosn of the HEC will be conditional to approval of the education ministry while President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi will approve the ordinance today’s night.
The ordinance has been given name of the HEC amendment ordinance 2021.
Under the ordinance, chairman HEC will be appointed for a term of two years while members of the HEC will be appointed for four years term while chairman and members can take one more term.
