Islamabad; Vice-President Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sherry Rehman has expressed concerns over ever increasing import bill and trade deficit.
In her statement, Sherry Rehman said that import bill for oil and food increased by 73 percent during July to December 2021.
She said that the facts and figures issued by statistics department is worthy of concerns, through which questions of food scarcity are created.
The vice-president said that whole import bill increased by 66 percent and jumped to 40.65 billion dollars which was at 24.45 billion dollar one year ago.
With the increase in trade deficit has reached worrisome point of 24. 79 billion dollar, she added.
She said that those goods in which the country are self reliant are being import.
