KARACHI: A foreign ship loaded with wheat has caught fire at the Karachi Port Trust, KPT fire brigade personnel are engaged in efforts to control the fire.
A fire broke out in a foreign ship loaded with wheat anchored at Karachi Port Trust. The fire engulfed a large part of the ship. KPT fire brigade officials and tenders have reached the spot and efforts are underway to control the fire.
According to rescue sources, the fire broke out in chemical drums along with wheat. The drums contained a chemical called carbide, which is flammable. After the fire, both drums of the chemical exploded.
