Peshawar: Earthquake jolts were felt many areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Islamabad on night of Thursday.
The tremors were felt in Islamabad, Peshawar, Noshehra, Dir, Chitral, Mansehra and Mardan and around the adjoining areas of these territories.
The earthquake jolts were also felt in Okara city, Chiniot, Sheikhupura city, Gojra, Jhang city, Bhalwal, Talagang
Kamalia city and adjoining areas, Hujra Shahmuqeem and adjoining areas, Shorkot Cant and City and its surrounding areas, Haripur, Abbotabad, Attock, , Phalia, Qasur and Chakwal were also felt the tremors.
The people of these areas came out of their houses, offices and other places of the people in the fear while reciting the Kalma Tyabba.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC), the epicenter of the earthquake was Hindukash region .
The depth of the earthquake was 173 km under the ground and its magnitude on the Richter scale was 5.8.
