Govt Consulting Over To Decrease Federal Cabinet Volume By Half Under Austerity Drive

Islamabad: Under the austerity drive the government is consulting to take another step of decreasing volume of federal cabinet by half.

Under the government consultation in this regard all the special assistants and advisers will be removed from their posts.

While only minister will be designated on a single ministry.

Under the government austerity drive as many as Rs 200 billion will be saved while Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will personally implement the austrity drive.

The PM appreciating the ministers said that working without getting salaries is worth praiseworthy.

The Premier also expressed thanks to the allied parties over the cooperation in the austerity drive.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said he will personally supervise the implementation of the austerity measures announced yesterday after the approval of federal cabinet.

In his tweets on Thursday, he said the austerity measures that begin with the cabinet members voluntarily surrendering their pays, perks and privileges will save the exchequer an amount of two hundred billion rupees annually.

He expressed his gratitude to all the coalition partners for their support.

Shehbaz Sharif said amid economic difficulties, the expression of solidarity and sharing the burden is the governing spirit of austerity measures of our government.

It is leadership by personal example.

The Prime Minister stressed it is through collective efforts that the country can be rid of the present challenging phase.
