Lahore: Election Commissioner Ahmed Shehzad Farooq Rana assumed charge as Acting Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Earlier, the federal government on Tuesday took a major decision as it denotified Pakistan Cricket Board management committee headed by Najam Sethi.
Inter-provincial coordination Ministry has issued notification of in this regard. As per the notification the PCB management committee ended on intervening night of June 19 and 20.
After this action of the ministry, all the members of the committee including its chairman Najam Sethi turned inactive.
Now the chairman and its all members have no powers to take any decision.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has nominated Zakka Ashraf and Mustafa Ramday for PCB governing board.
The Pakistan Cricket Board Management Committee met today under the Chairmanship of Mr Najam Sethi at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore in which it approved the composition of the Board of Governors.
The composition is as follows:
Two PCB Patron nominees
Four regional representatives i.e. Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi
Four department/service organisation representatives i.e. Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL), Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), Pakistan Water & Power Development Authority (WAPDA) and Khan Research Laboratory (KRL)
Upon the notification of the BOG members, the Management Committee shall stand dissolved and the PCB Election Commissioner shall assume the powers of the Chairman till the elections are held.
