Peshawar: U.S. Ambassador Donald Blome visited multi-purpose Gomal Zam Dam in South Waziristan District today.
US Ambassador was accompanied by the Chairman of Water and Power Development Authority , Lt. General (retired) Sajjad Ghani, and Secretary Agriculture Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Javed Marwat.
On the occasion, he said US government is proud of it 130 million dollars collaboration with Pakistan on the Gomal Zam Multi-purpose Project.
He said that Gomal Zam Dam, the third-largest water storage facility in Pakistan, after Tarbela and Mangla Dams, is a critical piece of infrastructure in Pakistan’s strategy for climate change management and overall food security.

The dam is a joint project of the governments of the United States and Pakistan.
