New Delhi: Thousands of people, mostly women, staged a sit-in in India’s violence-wracked northeastern state of Manipur.
They were demanding the immediate arrest of all culprits involved in the molestation of two women who were paraded around naked.

Addressing the mammoth sit-in, leaders of religious and women’s groups called for the firing of a senior official in the state where more than 130 people have been killed since violence between two dominant ethnic groups erupted in early May.
