Colombo: India won match against Sri Lanka by 41 runs in Asia Cup Super fours which is its consecutive second victory in Super fours.
India has set 214 runs target to Sri Lanka in Asia Cup Super 4s match on Tuesday here in Colombo after it bowled out at 213.
From Lankan side Dhananjaya de Silva played responsible batting scoring 41 runs while Dunith Welalage performed all rounder performance making 42 runs not out while he also took five wickets. Charith Asalanka who scored 22 runs and took four crucial wickets of India
A four of Sri Lanka players could not even cross 10 runs while top order batsmen completely failed as top four players only scored 6, 2, 15 and 17 which include Pathum Nissanka, Dimuth Karunaratne ,Kusal Mendis and Sadeera Samarawickrama respectively.
Kuldip Yadav of India was on top by wickets as he took four wickets followed by Japarith Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja who got two wickets each.
Muhammad Siraj and Hardik Pandya took one wicket each.
India and Sri Lanka match of super 4s disrupted owing to heavy downpours after India scored 197 off 9 wickets in 47 overs. The match resumed after rain ended while it could add 16 runs in the last three overs.
Earlier, Indian skipper Rohat Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first against Sri Lanka in Asia Cup super 4s on a same stadium where it handed arch rival Pakistan a humiliated defeat by 228 runs.
Sri Lanka bowler Dunith Welalage bowl tremendously crushing India’s solid bating line. He took a heroic five wickets.
Another bowler from Lankan side Charith Asalanka got a splendid four wicket while Theekshana took one wicket.
Indian skipper Rohat Sharma played superbly and got a marvelous fifty once again scoring 53 runs while Isha kashan scored 33 runs, KL Rahul made 39 runs and Axar Patel made 26 runs.
