Karachi: The Provincial Election Commission (PEC)has issued notice to Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab over violation of the election code of conduct.
The PEC has served the notice to the Mayor Karachi seeking his reply till tomorrow, Saturday, over his statement in favour of his party in a presser today.
The notice reads that you are supporting a particular political party adding that his presser today in the support of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) can influence the voters of the city.
The EC clarified that under the election code of conduct local bodies elected representatives can’t support any political party.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Mayor Karachi in his presser today morning said that the PPP will not disappoint the masses in any district of the city.
He said that after the election in the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto development work on large scale will be started in the city.
