LAHORE: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Lahore granted bail Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Activist Tayyaba Raja and other 8 PTI’s members.
An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore granted the bail to PTI’s Activist Tayyaba Raja and 8 others including Rubina Jameel and Sanam Javed in the Jinnah House attack case, an anti-terrorism court judge Arshad Javed approved the pleas filed by the suspects, who have been detained for months, after hearing arguments from petitioners and prosecution lawyers.
The court has ordered the police to release all the nine PTI leaders from jail. The court ordered to release them against the surety bonds of Rs 0.1 million each. The court accepted the bail pleas of PTI activists Rubina Jameel, Aliya Hamza, Sanam Javed Khan, Tayyaba Raja, Afshan Tariq, Ashma Shuja, Shah Bano, Syed Faisal Akhtar, Qasim Ali Hasan and Hussain Qadri. Violent clashes broke out across Pakistan after the former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan were arrested at the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on May 9. The protests were held in remote and major cities as the party workers are agitated due to their chairman’s arrest, with Baluchistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad summoning the armed forces to ensure law and order.
