Lahore: An inaugural session of Punjab Assembly (PA)has commenced today.
In today session all the new members of assembly will take oath as the Members of Punjab Assembly (PA).
The last Speaker of Punjab Assembly (PA) Sibtain Khan will administer oath.
Pakistan Muslim Leauge-Nawaz (PML-N) nominated Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz is also attending the session.
After inclusion of 22-independents candidates in the PML-N has 159 general seats.The numbers of the PML-N members after getting 41 specials seats have reached 200 seats.
For the elections of leader of the Punjab Assembly needed simple majority of 186 members. The PML-N has claimed having numbers completed for formation of the provincial government.
The elections of chief minister Punjab, Speaker and Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly will be held tomorrow.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) nominated cheif minister Aslam Iqbal, newly elected members of Sunni Ittehad Council are also participating in the session.
As many as PTI backed 116 independent candidates have joined the Sunni Ittehad Council SIC.
Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman has summoned the Punjab Assembly session in the assembly chamber on Friday, today.
