Rawalpindi: Chief of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Thursday appealed to Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Syed Asim Muneer and Director General (DG) Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) Lt Gen Nadeen Ahmed Anjum to announce pardon for all the prisoners of May 9 incident on occasion of Eid Ul Azha.
Talking to media after appearing before the court in Islamabad, the AML chief said that the prisons have gotten short of space while he claimed that 80 to 90 percent captives in jail are innocent.
Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said that those who got release on Eid Ul Fitr were acquitted after passing one year in prison.
He said that respect for the army dear to us more than the life but what message has been given to the people.
He appealed the Army Chief Syed Asim Muneer and DG ISI Lt General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum to give amnesty to all prisoner of May 9 incident while he also appealed to release Sanam Javed and Aliya Hamza.
