AC Hears Rs5.76bn Corruption Case Against Sharjeel, Others

Islamabad (December 14, 2017): An accountability Court on Thursday heard Rs5.76 billion corruption case against former Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon and others.

The incarcerated former ministers and other accused appeared before the court. During the hearing, judge of the accountability court remarked that someone people were trying to bring the court under pressures through different quarters.

The judge said that there was two law in Pakistan; one for the poor and the other for the rich and influential people.

Talking to media after appearing before the court the former minister and PPP leader said that NAB had asked for putting the names of Nawaz Sharif and his family members name on Exit Control List (ECL) but it was not implemented.

He said that a NAB had itself become a big question mark. He added that the Bureau had two laws and standards to deal with corruption cases.It is to be mentioned here the former minister and other have been accused of corruption amounting to Rs5.76 billion in distribution of government advertisements.

Information Department officials including Zulfiqar Ali Shalwani, Mansoor Ahmed and others are co-accused in the Rs5 billion corruption case.
