Saying that Taliban has not given a positive reply to the efforts of the four-nation group Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhary added that bringing Taliban to negotiations table is not the responsibility of Pakistan alone and that Afghanistan, U.S., China too should play their role to bring Taliban to the table.
Addressing a press conference over Afghanistan Aizaz informed that resolving issues only through talks was stressed at the meeting of four-nation group yesterday. Pakistan has most vital interests in Afghanistan and an unstable Afghanistan is not in the interest of any of its neighbor, he added.
Incidents of violence increased in Afghanistan and there are news about Daesh and Azbeks being present in two separate parts of Afghanistan while Taliban has occupied many Afghan areas as well. Through the four-nation group we are trying to restore peace in Afghanistan, he added.
Aizaz further said that Pakistan wants relations with Afghanistan that are based on mutual interests and mutual respect but the resolution of Afghan issue is possible only as per the aspirations of the Afghan people under the Afghan leadership.
