AJK JAAC core member denounces banned organization, urges youth to avoid violence

MUZAFFARABAD: In a significant development, Advocate Raja Amjad Ali Khan, a former member of the core committee of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), distanced himself from the banned group.

Call for Peace and Rejection of Propaganda

In a video message, Khan urged the youth of AJK to reject violence and focus on peaceful methods to address their concerns. He emphasized that the movement was originally peaceful but was later hijacked by JAAC leaders, who used it to undermine the relationship between AJK and Pakistan. “What started as a peaceful movement was exploited by leaders to weaken ties and create chaos,” he stated.

Khan warned young people against becoming involved in agitation activities that could ruin their futures, advising them to pursue constructive avenues instead. He also criticized the propaganda spread by the banned organization, asserting that it did not serve the interests of the people or their welfare.

Law Enforcement Recover Evidence from Mirpur

In related developments, law enforcement agencies (LEAs) conducted a raid on the residence of Mehran, a worker associated with JAAC, in Mirpur. During the operation, authorities recovered various items including a laptop, an iPad, USB drives, and materials believed to be used in the manufacturing of weapons.

Videos obtained from Mehran’s home show him and his brothers brandishing firearms and firing shots, raising concerns over militant activities linked to the banned organization.

This crackdown and Khan’s public disassociation highlight the ongoing efforts by authorities to curb extremist elements and promote peace within the region.
