A.J.KASHMIR: Government employees assigned to election duties for Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s (AJK) upcoming general elections will cast their votes on July 20 through a special voting process, election authorities announced on Friday.
The AJK Election Commission has fixed July 27 as the date for the region’s general elections.
According to an Election Commission spokesperson, polling for officials and government employees performing election-related responsibilities will be held at the offices of the respective returning officers in each constituency.
The early voting arrangement has been introduced to ensure election staff can exercise their voting rights before election day, as they will be engaged in official duties during the main polling process.
Election officials said returning officers will oversee the polling, while administrative and logistical preparations are nearing completion to facilitate an orderly and efficient process.
The Election Commission has also directed all relevant departments to finalize necessary arrangements promptly, emphasizing that the upcoming elections should be conducted in a transparent, fair, and peaceful manner.
