All Judges Would Have Been in Jail If BB Had Not Signed NRO

Islamabad (April 25, 2018): The opposition leader in National Assembly and PPP leader Khursheed Shah denied Asif Zardari’s link with National Reconciliation Order (NRO) on Wednesday and said that it was signed only to save democracy.

NRO was a controversial ordinance issued by the former president Pervez Musharraf on 5 October 2007. It granted amnesty to politicians, political workers and bureaucrats who were accused of corruption, money laundering, murder, and terrorism between 1 January 1986, and 12 October 1999.

Talking to media persons outside parliament he defended the sign on NRO said that if Benazir Bhutto had not signed NRO all the judges would have been in jail.Commenting over the next budget, opposition leader said that the budget should be presented  at least four months before the end of tenure of any government as PPP has presented the budget because it has six months more before end of tenure.

Responding a query over Ch Nisar’s defection to PTI, Shah said that he did not believe Nisar will join PTI.
