WEB DESK: At only 24 years old, Anniqa Meraj has been crowned Miss World Pakistan 2026 and will be making history as Pakistan’s first-ever contestant at the Miss World pageant. She is set to compete in the 75th Anniversary Edition of the Miss World Festival, taking place in Vietnam from August 9 to September 5, as announced by Miss World on Instagram.
Anniqa, a graduate in Business and Economics with specialization in accounting and auditing, expressed her excitement about the opportunity. She shared her personal goals, saying, “My main ambition is to become a State-Authorized Public Accountant. I also want to advocate for children’s rights and promote girls’ education to help shape a better future for Pakistan.”
The crowning event was held at Lahore’s Faletti’s Hotel, where Anniqa was crowned by Dr. Shafaq Akhtar, Miss Pakistan Universal 2022, and Attaullah Gujjar, Mr. Pakistan World. Recognized as an experienced pageant participant, she has competed in six international competitions and has earned four titles throughout her pageantry career.
While this marks Pakistan’s debut at the Miss World contest, the country has previously participated in other major international pageants, such as Miss Universe, with representatives like Erica Robin and Roma Riaz.
Organizers are celebrating Anniqa’s participation as a major milestone for Pakistan on the global Miss World stage, highlighting the significance of this historic debut for the country’s representation in international beauty pageants.
