Baluchistan budget of 289 billion rupees presented in the Assembly

QUETTA: A 289 billion rupees budget of Baluchistan has been presented, in which 71 billion rupees allocated for development works, 30 billion rupees for law and order and 40 billion rupees were allocated for education.

Government has completely banned luncheon and dinner on government expenses, while 10 percent increase in employees salary and pension was proposed, 71 billion and 180 million rupees were allocated for annual development program, while 40 billion rupees were allocated for education.

Baluchistan Education Endowment fund has been increased from five billion to six billion rupees, while foreign Universities scholarships will be given to 14 thousand students, three medical colleges will be built in Khuzdar, Loralai and Turbat, while a college for special students will also be made. Transport for 1000 schools was also proposed in recent budget, while 22 billion and 840 million rupees will be allocated for Sikandar Zehri University, 791.4 million rupees were allocated for furniture and science equipment in schools and 450 million rupees were allocated for print of course books, whereas 100 million rupees will be given for the provision of furniture in colleges and 500 million rupees will be allocated for laptop scheme for students.

The budget also comprised of allocation of five billion rupees for the development of Quetta and 184 billion rupees and 760 million rupees were allocated for non development projects. Hospital for heart diseases will be built in cooperation of Punjab, while 48 million rupees were allocated for blood cancer patients, while five new trauma centers construction is also under consideration, whereas 1.5 billion rupees will be given for improvement of District Headquarters Hospitals.

Two billion rupees will be allocated for Quetta Mass Transit train project and one billion rupees for Green Bus project, while employment will be provided to 3000 people.

The allocated funds for law and order have also increased, as 130 million rupees have been allocated to equip police and Levies on modern lines.

Seven billion and 400 million rupees were allocated for agriculture, while loan without interest for fishermen was also announced. CM Baluchistan reiterated his commitment for the complete elimination of polio from the province, while 839.7 million rupees were allocated for fishermen and more than one billion and 820 million rupees were allocated for development of irrigation sector.

Provision of three billion rupees was proposed for the up gradation of all divisional headquarters including Gwadar city, while 10 billion rupees were allocated for current projects and five billion rupees for local councilors in terms of development grand. A 300 Mega Watts Solar energy production plant in Kachlak was also announced.
