WEB DESK: South Korean boy band BTS has once more claimed the coveted “Artist of the Year” title at the American Music Awards in Las Vegas, solidifying their position as a leading force in the global music scene.
In addition to the top honor, BTS also took home awards for Best Male Pop Artist and “Song of the Summer” for their chart-topping track “Swim,” beating out renowned international artists such as Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Bad Bunny, Harry Styles, and Lady Gaga.
During their acceptance speech, BTS expressed heartfelt gratitude to their fans worldwide for their unwavering support over the past 13 years. “This award is a testament to the love and encouragement from our fans everywhere,” they said on stage.
The group had taken a break from group activities in 2022 as members fulfilled their mandatory military service obligations in South Korea. Despite this hiatus, BTS made a triumphant comeback earlier this year with their fifth studio album, *Arirang*, which topped the Billboard 200 chart for two weeks straight after its release in March.
In a separate highlight, veteran musician Billy Idol was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his significant contributions to the music industry, celebrating his enduring legacy.
