KARACHI: A case regarding the theft of 2.5 million rupees from a trader on Bhutto Avenue has finally been registered after 17 days.
According to police sources, FIR No. 503/26 was lodged by company manager Kashif Murtaza. The complaint states that the company owner, Hafizur Rehman, left his office around 12:30 AM on April 11 and was traveling on Bhutto Avenue to go to his home in Defence.
The complainant reported that at approximately 1:12 AM, as Hafizur Rehman’s vehicle was descending Bhutto Avenue, it was rear-ended by another car. When Hafizur went to investigate, four motorcyclists arrived at the scene.
The complainant alleges that the assailants, armed with weapons, took Hafizur hostage, subjected him to violence, and looted 2.5 million rupees. The suspects also took valuable documents, bills, and their national ID cards.
The FIR states that the suspects, in vehicle number DIB 548, were seen following the victim’s car on Bhutto Avenue. The suspects, riding on cars and motorcycles, fled towards Baloch Colony via One Way.
