CDWP approves energy projects worth Rs13500m

ISLAMABAD: The Central Develpoment Working Party (CDWP) has approved projects of worth over 13,500 million rupees in energy, development and other sectors.

The CDWP’s meeting was held here with Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal in the chair.

CDWP approved a project of 500KV Chakwal Substation at a cost of 7027 million rupees to meet growing demand in areas of Choa Saidan Shah, Gujar Khan, Dandot and Pinanwal.

Other projects approved by the meeting in the energy sector include evacuation of power from two power plants in Thar; 132 KV transmission line for making interconnecting arrangement between 132 KV grid station Kharan and Mall Grid; Rehabilitation of Damaged 66KV Grid station at Ghiljo Orakzai Agency and evacuation of power from 350 MW power plant near Port Qasim.

The meeting also approved evacuation of power from K-2 and K-3 near Karachi.
