LAHORE: Childrens with autism are not patients, but rather special individuals, says Maryam Nawaz
In her message, the Chief Minister extended a special Eid al-Fitr greeting to children affected by autism, announcing that gift packs have been distributed to 40,000 children across Punjab for the first time during Eid.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed her commitment to the education, training, and rehabilitation of children with autism. She emphasized that, for the first time, special education and children with special needs have been included in the government’s priorities.
Additionally, the Chief Minister mentioned that 12 dedicated autism units have been established in special education centers, and autism centers have also been set up in 27 divisional public schools throughout the province. A decision has also been made to launch a meal program providing packed food for special children.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister revealed that digital touch screens are being installed at the District Special Education Center of Excellence, stating that bringing about positive changes in the lives of children with autism is our commitment.
