Islamabad (May  02, 2018):  Chief Justice of Pakistan , Mian Saqib Nisar  took suo motu notice of the target killing of Hazara community’s members in Quetta on Wednesday.

CJP said that the children of Hazara community are not able to go schools and colleges due to the fear of target killing. He asked the provincial government what has been done to stop these murders?

Chief Justice of Pakistan expressed solidarity with the victims and sought report from the Interior Ministry and law enforcement agencies.

Are the Hazara community members not Pakistanis? Is the government not responsible for providing them protection? he inquired.It may be recalled that the talks of Interior Minister, Ahsan Iqbal were failed with the protesters of Hazara Community, the protesters demanded from the Chief of the Army Staff for the protection.Later, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa reached at Quetta and held meeting with notables of the Hazara community.

Director General ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, and Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti were also present in the meeting.

During the meeting with COAS, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, notables of the Hazara community announced to end sit-in the wee hours of Wednesday.

On the occasion, talking to elders of Hazara community in Quetta, the Army Chief assured them that target killers of Hazaras will be punished severely.

He pointed out that secret agencies of enemies are assisting the terrorists to destabilize the country.The Army Chief said security forces are offering sacrifices for the sake of people and the country and  thirty seven security personnel have been martyred in Quetta only in 2018.

According to ISPR, on the assurance of the Army Chief the Hazara community called off their protest, decided to call off their all sit-ins which they have been staging in Quetta for last three days against continuous killing of youth of the community in the provincial capital.
Army Chief had reviewed security situation in the provincial capital before meeting  with  the notables of Hazara  community  to  remove their reservations  who have been staging sit-in across the city against the target killing of   community members, demanding provision of protection and security.
