Crackdown strategy prepared ahead of PTI rally near D-Chowk

ISLAMABAD: In preparation for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest rally approaching D-Chowk, authorities have devised a comprehensive crackdown strategy.

The government is taking stringent measures to prevent any attempt to breach the security of D-Chowk, with key markets in surrounding areas already sealed off.

Sources indicate that markets in areas such as Melody, Blue Area, Aabpara, and sectors F6 and F7 have been closed in anticipation of the protest. A major operation is also planned for the night, with orders issued to clear critical entry and exit points, including IJP Road, to block access to the rally.

To ensure public safety, the Deputy Commissioner has announced that all educational institutions in Islamabad and Rawalpindi will remain closed on 27th November due to the ongoing PTI protest.

Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Irfan Siddiqui called for decisive action against PTI, citing the recent political unrest. In a statement, Siddiqui questioned whether a group responsible for inciting chaos and violence should still be recognized as a political party, emphasizing the need for firm measures to restore order.

As tensions rise, the government’s readiness to address the situation underscores the urgency of controlling the growing unrest surrounding PTI’s demonstration.
