Special Court issued show cause notice to the Interior Ministry for not submitting the details of the assets of former president Pervez Musharraf while hearing the sedition case against him. The head of three-member bench of the court Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel said that the accused is wanted and an absconder. For whom the lawyers come to court to defend, he commented.
The court expressed anger at non-submission of the details of Musharraf’s assets and rejected Interior Ministry’s application for in conditional apology. Hot words were also traded between the bench and Musharraf’s lawyers with Mazhar Alam Miankhel saying the accused failed to appear in court even today. Over this Musharraf’s lawyer Ahmad Raza Kasuri said that Musharraf is sick and is outside the country over which court said that the accused is wanted and an absconder. Whom you have come to defend here, we are not sitting idle, we come to Peshawar and Lahore on every hearing, if the accused is not appearing you do not have to come as well, Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel told Kasuri who asked court that if it gives written order he will not come next time.
The prosecution told the court that advertisements are placed for accused’s appearace.
The court later adjourned the hearing till July 19.
