DG ISPR engages students in discussion on national security at Islamabad University

ISLAMABAD: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry conducted an interactive session with students and faculty members at Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University, focusing on issues related to national security, terrorism, and modern information warfare.

During the discussion, the DG ISPR responded to a wide range of questions raised by students, offering detailed insights on security challenges facing the country. Participants appreciated the session, saying it helped address misconceptions and highlighted the responsible use of social media platforms.

Speakers and attendees underlined the importance of remembering Pakistan’s historic achievements and recognising the sacrifices made by the armed forces for national defence and stability.

The session also highlighted growing concerns over fake news, disinformation campaigns, and hybrid warfare. Students were encouraged to verify information carefully before sharing content online and to remain aware of the impact of digital propaganda.

Vice Chancellor Muhammad Iqbal Khan urged young people to contribute positively toward the country’s peace, progress, and security.

The programme concluded with students and faculty expressing solidarity and support for Pakistan’s armed forces in the face of ongoing national security challenges.
