KARACHI: According to sources from PIA, the cargo plane experienced a sudden engine failure. The aircraft was en route from Osaka, Japan, to Dubai.
Sources from PIA stated that the captain promptly requested permission for an emergency landing from Karachi Air Traffic Control. The aircraft, after receiving ATC clearance, safely landed at Karachi Airport.
PIA reports that the cargo aircraft was within Pakistani airspace. The flight number of the Emirati Airlines cargo plane is EK 9801.
It is worth noting that last week, a private Pakistani cargo company’s aircraft crashed while arriving from Sharjah to Karachi. All five crew members were onboard the aircraft.
