Anti-Judiciary Slogans: LHC Constitutes Full Bench

Lahore(April 30, 2018): Chief Justice Lahore High Court has constituted full bench headed by Justice Muzahir Naqvi against anti-judiciary slogans raised in Kasur Rally, hearing will start on May 2.

On April 25, N league leaders were remanded over anti-judiciary slogans.

According to the details, petitioner, President of the District Bar Kasur, Mirza said in his petition that anti-judiciary slogans were raised during rally in Kasur after disqualification of Nawaz Sharif.

He appealed court to take stern action according to the law against the leaders and workers who raised anti-judiciary slogans.Chief Justice Lahore High Court constituted full bench under the head of Justice Muzahir Ali Naqvi. The hearing of the case will start from May 2.

It is worthwhile to mention here that on April 19, around 50 Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) activists including MNA Waseem Akhtar Sheikh were arrested by the local police for holding protest against institutions in Kasur.

MPA Naeem Safdar, Kasur Municipal Committee Chairman Ayaz Khan, Vice Chairman Ahmad Latif, two UC chairmen Nasir Khan and Jamil Khan and as many councillors are also among those arrested.According to details, the rally was held at Shahbaz Road under the supervision of member of National Assembly (MNA) Waseem Akhtar Sheikh and member of provincial assembly (MPA) Naeem Safdar Ansari. Slogans and foul language against judicial system were also used during the protest.

The police had lodged two separate cases on the applications of Advocate Major (r) Habibur Rehman and Constable Abdul Rasheed against 80 people including chairman and vice chairman and launched a search operation to nab other culprits.The cases were registered under sections 166, 506, 341, 228 (intentional insult or interruption to public servant sitting in judicial proceeding), 109, 147 and 149 ( offences against public tranquility) of PPC.
