‘Born A King’ to Premiere in Saudi Arabia in September

RIYADH: The film depicting Saudi King Faisal bin Abdul Aziz, “Born A King”, is all set to release in Saudi Arabia by September 2019.

It has been announced that “Born a King” will be the first film to be shown publically in Saudi Arabia following the recent rescinding of a 35-year cinema ban on commercial cinemas in the Kingdom.

Set in 1919, Born A King is a true story about the childhood of King Faisal bin Abdul Aziz, who was the King of Saudi Arabia from 1964 to 1975.

The plot follows a 13-year-old Saudi Prince who is sent to Britain on a political mission to protect the formation of his country, on behalf of his father King Abdul Aziz.

The trailer tells us more about the movie – the challenges faced by Prince Faisal, his negotiations with the Royals, and his subtle sense of humor amongst significant figures.

The production was completed in 3 years, and it was filmed in different locations, including the UK and Riyadh.

The movie is directed by Spanish star Agusti Villaronga, and Prince Faisal is played by an up-and-coming Saudi actor Abdullah Ali.
