ISLAMABAD: Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that Pakistan has become bankrupt and immediate relief cannot be given to the people.
Talking to media in Sialkot, Khawaja Asif said that in one to two years, the economic conditions of the country will be corrected and the people will get full relief.
He further said that a large section does not pay tax, including retailers and wholesalers, only a few million people pay tax, and a large number of them belong to the salaried class.
Khawaja Asif said that tax cases worth billions of rupees have been pending in the courts for years, decisions are not being made. Pakistan has become bankrupt and people cannot be given immediate relief.
