Diamir Bhasha Dam royalty matter has been resolved, while Gilgit Baltistan and KPK were given equal rights over dam’s royalty.
According to sources, Diamir Bhasha Dam royalty matter has been resolved, after which Diamir Bhasha Dam power generation plants will be installed in KPK and Gilgit Baltistan boundaries. Meanwhile Ministry for Water and Power has expressed hope of increase in investments and to develop the project further.
It must be recalled that the people of Gilgit Baltistan had been working for dam’s royalty for a long time, as dam land belonged to Gilgit Baltista, while power generation plants were being installed in KPK bounderies, on which it had been decided to give the whole right of royalty to KPK. Meanwhile, the people of Gilgit Baltistan had expressed reservation over the decision, due to which the government had to face serious difficulties to bring investments for dam.
