Islamabad (June 12, 2018): Election Commission of Pakistan will hold an important meeting in Islamabad on Thursday regarding the security arrangements for upcoming general elections.
The meeting will be attended by provincial election commissioners, chief and home secretaries and Inspector General’s of all the four provinces.
Earlier, Election Commission of Pakistan told that verification of more than 19500 candidates have been received for scrutiny. According to the spokesperson of ECP, data of more than 19500 candidates have been shared with the NAB, NADRA, FBR and the State Bank of Pakistan through an online system.
Verification of about ten thousand nomination papers has so far been done with the help of online data scrutiny system.
These nomination papers have now been forwarded to the returning officers.
ECP says that nomination papers of dozens of candidates have been declared suspicious.
