ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) expressing concerns over the deployment of army personnel inside the polling stations in the by-election on NA-205 Ghotki has written a letter to Election Commission of Pakistan ECP.
Secretary-General of the PPP, Nayer Bukhari holding a press conference along with Farhat Ullah Baber have expressed concerns over the deployment of the army inside the polling station on the occasion of the by-election of NA-205 and demanded the ECP to withdraw its orders to ensure fair elections.
On a query, Nayyer Bukhari said that the constitution and law are very clear on a no-confidence motion against Chairman Senate adding that the interpretation of rules by the Chairman Senate is not right.
Farhat Ullah Baber said that army has been deployed only on the most sensitives polling stations in the provincial election of tribal areas while in all of the polling stations on the Ghotki by-election and raised the question that is Ghotkhi is more sensitive than the areas affected by the terrorism.
on a question, he said that no political party demanded the army deployment within the polling stations.
