Islamabad (February 26, 2018): The Islamabad High Court on Monday reserved verdict in a plea filed over maintainability of contempt of court case against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

As per details, Justice Amir Farooq of the IHC was conducting a hearing into the case. The court after hearing to the arguments of both the sides reserved the verdict in the case.

The petition was filed by Advocate Makhdoom Niaz Inqalabi who pleaded with the court to ban the transmission of Nawaz Sharif’s speeches as he lashes out at judges in his public appearances and media talks.The petition against Nawaz Sharif has secretary information and chairman Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) as parties to the case. The judge of IHC justice Amir Farooq will hear the case.

Earlier on February 20, The Islamabad High Court on Tuesday refused to listen to the case against the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over his tirade against the judiciary due to a similar case pending in Lahore High Court. IHC adjourned the contempt of court case hearing till February 26 in order to wait for a verdict of Lahore High Court in a similar case.pt in the next hearing.
