Web desk(June 20, 2018): After contributing 50 years in cinema, Shutter Island director Martin Scorsese is all set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at Rome Film Festival.
This announcement was made by director Antonio Monda and Laura Delli Colli, the head of the Fondazione Cinema per Roma.
Veteran director Martin Scorsese will be awarded with the Lifetime Achievement award by Italian director Paolo Taviani who is best known for modern American classics such as Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, The Aviator and The Departed.
Martin Scorsese is an American director, producer, screenwriter, actor and film historian. Many of his films are known for their depiction of violence and liberal use of profanity.
Scorsese’s body of work addresses themes as Sicilian-American identity, Roman Catholic concepts of guilt and redemption, faith, machismo, modern crime and gang conflict.
His 2002 film Gangs of New York, featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and Daniel Day-Lewis, was shot in Rome’s famed Cinecitta studios.
The 13th Rome film festival will run from October 18-28 of the current year.
