Karachi (February 18, 2018): The intra party elections under the MQM-P Farooq Sattar are continuing at Karachi and Hyderabad simultaneously in order to select new party leadership and members of coordination committee.
According to details, the ballot paper has names of members who are vying for the slots of coordination committee and central executive committee and the person who would acquire most votes would be elected as the convener of the party.

The name of former MQM-P convener Farooq Sattar is at the top of the ballot paper followed by Kamran Tessori. The paper also had names of Shahid Pasha and other members.
There are 35 candidates who are vying for the 25 slots of MQM coordination committee while 40 candidates are vying for the 25 seats of central executive committee.

The election process began in both Hyderabad and Karachi at 1:00 PM and would continue till 6:00 PM. The activists were asked to come along with the copy of their national identity cards.
It was told that the activists in Karachi would cast their votes at KMC Ground PIB Colony while the party cadre in Hyderabad and others parts of the province would use these right to vote in Hyderabad.
MQM-P leader Farooq Sattar said that they would not postpone the intra-party elections and the activists and the people of the province would not accept the unconstitutional decisions and would convey the message that only they are empowered to give decisions.
Sattar said that he was expelled from the post in an unconstitutional meeting and today’s polls would decide as to who is the constitutional head of the party.
“When they had removed me then how could they ask me to join them again,” he said to a query during media talk.
