Lahore (August 29, 2017): Maryam Nawaz will formally kick off PML-N election campaign for NA-120 by-polls with inauguration of election offices in the constituency and going door to door to solicit support for his mother who is contesting as PML-N candidate.
Though PML-N has already started campaign for the most important by-elections, Maryam Nawaz will formally inaugurate the campaign by opening the central election office of the party in the constituency.
The seat has fallen vacant after the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif by the Supreme Court in the Panamagate case. PML-N has fielded the wife of ex prime minister Kulsoom Nawaz as its candidate for the important by-election.
However, over a week ago she was diagnosed with throat cancer during a check up in London and is undergoing treatment for the disease.
Maryam is herself overseeing the election campaign of her mother.
Today she will inaugurate central election office for NA-120 by election at Mazang and later will address the workers.
Yesterday, Maryam chaired a meeting of ruling PML-N to discuss and chalk out the strategy for election campaign for NA-120 by-election.
Matters pertaining to preparations for the electoral campaign and the prevalent situation in NA-120 by-election were discussed.
It may be mentioned here that by-election in NA-120 constituency of the National Assembly is schedule to be held on September 17.
