Lahore (August 30, 2017): Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif left for London in a private airline flight from here.
The former Prime Minister is going to London to personally monitor the treatment of his wife Begum Kalsoom Nawaz, who has recently been diagnosed with throat cancer.
The former first lady, whom the PML-N has fielded for NA-120 b-election, is in London and undergoing treatment for the life-threatening disease.
Nawaz will celebrate Eid in London with Kulsoom Nawaz. His two sons along with other family member are already in London.
Nawaz Sharif boarded a private airline flight No. 625 from Allama Iqbal International Airport. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif saw the former premier off at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport.
Sharif departed via an Emirates flight, which will have a transit stay of a few hours in Dubai before leaving for London.
Stringent security arrangements were in place at the Airport when he arrived there to board the flight.
Nawaz’s two sons Hussain and Hassan are also living in London. Nawaz is expected to return after Eid.
Maryam Nawaz is running election campaign of his mother in his absence for NA-120 elections. Yesterday, she formally launched the campaign by opening central elections office of the party.
The NA-120 seat fell vacant after Supreme Court disqualified Nawaz in Panamagate case on July 28, 2017.
