ISLAMABAD: Dr. Sania Nishtar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (PMSA) on poverty alleviation and social protection and Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has said that increasing population of the country is posing threat and becoming the national problem.
Addressing a ceremony, Dr. Sania Nishtar said that the population of the country doubled within 30 years of time while the population turns double in the other countries of the world in a span of 60 years.
The PMSA said that measures at the provincial level needed to control the population while the government is working on providing basic facilities.
Dr. Sania Nishtar said that the country’s problems can only be resolved through effective and serious efforts while the increasing population creating a lack of health and education facilities.
She said that asserts public and private partnership is inevitable for providing facilities to the masses while she further said that the government can’t solely solve all the public problems and the nation needs to change its backward thinking regarding population.
