Islamabad (May 11, 2017): A petition was filed in the Supreme Court pleading the court to issue instruction to the government to make the Dawn leaks inquiry report public.
A lawyer Tariq Asad Advocate has filed the petition under Article 184 (3) of the constitution of Pakistan.
Naming Prime Minister, Secretary Ministry of Information and Interior Secretary as respondent, the petitioner has sought the court’s order to make public the inquiry report.
The petitioner added that the Dawn leak’s issue was not of Prime Minister or Army chief rather this was an issue of public interest.
He argued that access to information regarding public interests was the right of every citizen.
He pleaded the court to order the government to make the report public.
