ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday directed the Punjab government to bar implementing Punjab Assembly resolution to increase assembly members, ministers, advisors and Chief Minister Punjab salary.
It is pertinent to mention here that on Wednesday the PA had approved the resolution unanimously to increase MPAs, ministers, advisors and the CM Punjab salaries.
Earlier in the day, the premier has criticized the provincial government decision in his tweet on social media site twitter.
I am extremely disappointed by decision of Punjab Assembly to raise pays & privileges of MPAs, Ministers & esp CM. Once prosperity returns to Pak such a move cld be justified, but now, when we do not have resources to provide basic amenities to all our people, this is untenable

Now the PM has instructed the Punjab government not increase salaries of MPAs, ministers and the CM stressing that Pakistan can’ not afford such expenditures in this situation.
