PM Imran Removed Asad Umar On Wish of IMF: Khursheed Shah

ISLAMABAD: Senior leader Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Khursheed Shah has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has removed Asad Umar from the portfolio of finance minister on the wish of International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Senior leader Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Khursheed Shah said that the international financial body used Baqar Reza to remove Asad Umar as the IMF sent a message through Baqir Reza that the body is not happy with Asad Umar.

It is pertinent o mention here that Baqar Reza newly appointed governor of State Bank of Pakistan had met Prime Minister Imran Khan before his appointment on the post.

The PPP leader further claimed that the premier was informed by Baqar Reza that the IMF will not grant a loan to Pakistan in presence of Asad Umar as a finance minister.

Changing governor state bank and chairman of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Khursheed Shah commented that bringing a team of his choice is a right of adviser for finance but it seems that the government has a plan to kill people from hunger by bringing a new team.

He said that the government has ruined already before advent of budget adding that all the burden has passed on to the masses instead of increasing tax net while the government wanted to run its affairs by squeezing all the money from poor masses.

He further added that opposition had informed the government earlier it should contact to the IMF on time or at early stage “when the government position will be tight it (IMF)  will place toughest conditions before the government.”
