ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan overruling Sindh High Court’s judgement in the case on Thursday issued directives to hold re-elections in PS-11 Larkana II.

A three-judge bench headed by acting Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Azmat Sheikh heard a case pertaining to polls rigging in a constituency where PPP’s Nida Khoro and GDA’s Muazzam Ali Khan contested general elections of 2018.

Justice Aijazul Hasan announced court’s verdict which approved plaintiff Nida Khoro’s plea and denotified Muazzam who won the elections from PS-11 constituency in Larkana. Ms Khoro, PPP’s candidate for Provincial Assembly, had filed a petition in the Apex Court against Election Tribunal’s decision.

The tribunal back in January 2019 had rejected Nida Khoro’s application which sought action against the GDA leader.
