Shahid Afridi defends his son-in-Law, Wants Shaheen to remain Captain.

KARACHI: Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has come out in defence of his son-in-law Shaheen Shah Afridi amid Pakistan cricket captaincy speculation.

Talking to the media in Karachi, Shahid Afridi said that when faces change in Pakistan, the system also changes. Has he done something wrong?, In a conversation with the media, Shahid Afridi spoke in favor of his Son-in-law Shaheen Shah Afridi on the question regarding the change of captain.

He said that the one who gave the captaincy should be given time, the decision to make the captain was either wrong or what will happen now will be wrong, Apart from this, Shahid Afridi said that the experience of the training camp in Kakul has been good for him too, training makes a difference in fitness, those who are not selected for the series against New Zealand should get more training in Kakul.  

Shahid Afridi said that the decision to empower the selection committee is good, in his opinion there should have been a head of the selection committee, He said that the decision of Muhammad Amir and Imad Wasim to retire earlier was wrong, both of them still have cricket left, both are talented, they will have to be a part of domestic cricket as well.  

Talking about the coaching of Pakistan team, Shahid Afridi said that there should be foreign coaches, but the names of Pakistani coaches should also be kept in front. Apart from this, he said that he want to respond to criticism on social media with love, it is not a good thing to spread hatred among each other. 

It should be noted that in November last year, the former chairman of the management committee, Zaka Ashraf, removed Babar Azam from the captaincy, after which Shaheen Afridi was appointed as the captain of the national T20 and Shan Masood as the captain of the Test team.According to the sources, there are talks about making Babar Azam the captain once again in the authorized circles of the Pakistan Cricket Board, there are also reports of the contacts of the PCB officials with the former captain.
