Karachi: Renowned industrialist and Chairman of Deen Group of Companies SM Muneer, was laid to rest in Karachi today

Muneer who also known as Bhaijaan, died of cardiac arrest yesterday night, buried in a local graveyard near his house in Defence phase 8.

Muneer’s funeral prayers was held at 1:30 pm in Karachi at a mosque located near his residence.

A large number of political and social figures including well-known industrialists attended the funeral prayers.

Besides that scores of people belonging to business community, former governor Sindh Syed Moin Uddin Hyder, Ameer-e-Jamat Islami Karachi, Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman, Mohsin Sheikhani and others were participated in his funeral.

SM Muneer Profile

Belonging to Chinioti community, SM Muneer was born in 1945 and he got involved in leather business in 1964. He successfully set up many textile factories. At the time of death he was 77

He was also elected as the President of FPCCI. Moreover, he was also a board member of various companies and banks. Despite his kidney disorder, he took the lead in taking the problems and issues of the business community to the government.

He also represented industrialists in the meeting with the Sindh governor yesterday and a few hours after the ceremony, he had suffered heart attack which proved fatal.
