KARACHI: At least three children died after accidentally falling into an open drain in Karachi.
The incident occurred in city’s Nusrat Bhutto Colony where four children slipped into an open sewer line. Onlookers immediately arrived for help and a few of them tried to pull out the children.
Rescue teams were also called in to find the children, and they initially managed to retrieve two children in an unconscious condition, while the third was pulled out alive and breathing, but his condition was critical.
While on the way to the hospital, the three kids breathed their last and passed away. It is learnt that rescue teams encountered hardships in finding the fourth child because they didn’t have the emergency lights.
